2011: Established in Cairns

Trinity Advisory - formerly Trinity Accountants - was established in Cairns in 2011 by Rod and Sue Sherrington, a family passionate about supporting local, trade-based businesses. After working in high-level corporate roles overseas, Rod returned to his hometown to create a business dedicated to helping small business owners navigate the challenges of running and growing their companies.  

Over the years, Trinity Advisory has grown from a small startup with a team of 5 to a thriving business with over 25 employees. Despite our growth, we’ve stayed true to our roots as a family-owned and operated firm, working exclusively with trade-based businesses like builders, plumbers, and electricians.  

2019-2020: Award And Expansion

In 2019, we were named Xero Partner of the Year for Queensland.

Trinity Advisory expanded to the Sunshine Coast in 2020, proudly continuing as a family-owned and operated business. Since then, we’ve grown from a small team of 3 to 15, working exclusively with locally owned and operated trade-based businesses. In addition to Accounting & Advisory Services, we’ve brought our unique Business Coaching with Numbers approach to the Sunshine Coast, helping our clients build stronger, more profitable businesses.

2021: Award Winning Recognition

In 2021, we were proud to be named Winners of the Regional/Suburban Accounting Firm of the Year and finalists in the Sunshine Coast Business Awards for Professional Services.

2023:People’s Choice

We were also recognised as the ‘People’s Choice Winner’ for Australia in the Xero Awards FY23, a testament to the impact we’ve made in the Cairns community and the value we bring to small businesses.
