Rod

Managing Director

Rod Sherrington is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Trinity Advisory, where he combines decades of global finance experience with a passion for helping small business owners succeed. His diverse career has included senior roles in investment banking in London, commercial property development, and entrepreneurial ventures across multiple industries.

Since launching Trinity Advisory in 2011 alongside his wife Sue, Rod has been on a mission to provide clients with more than just tax advice. Under his leadership, Trinity has become a trusted partner in business, offering CFO-level insights and real-world coaching tailored to trade-based businesses. His philosophy of "Coaching with Numbers" has earned the firm accolades, including Xero Partner of the Year (QLD) and Best Regional Firm at the Australian Accounting Awards.

Rod’s hands-on approach and ability to "walk the talk" makes him a sought-after mentor for business owners who want to improve not just their businesses, but their lives.

Sue

Office Manager

Sue is the backbone of Trinity Advisory. She helped start the business with Rod 15 years ago and has been keeping the wheels turning ever since. With a background in bookkeeping and years running her own business, Sue brings a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of what it takes to support both a team and its clients. Before Trinity, she honed her people skills as a retail manager, where she learned just how powerful great customer service can be.

Sue is also the heart of the office – always up for a laugh, quick with a story, and the first one on the dance floor. Outside of work, you'll find her horse riding, catching up with friends, or planning the next social event. Her energy and warmth are a big part of what makes Trinity feel like family.

Josh

CFO

Josh Sherrington is a trusted financial advisor helping small business owners gain clarity, improve cash flow, and drive long-term growth. With a Bachelor of Laws & Business (Accounting), CDEC registration, and nearing CPA completion, he combines expertise with a passion for problem-solving.

Specializing in small business advisory and CFO reporting, Josh helps businesses understand their financial position, manage cash flow effectively, and maximize profitability. He’s helped clients double revenue by refining their niche and pricing strategies, proving that the right financial insights can transform a business.

Josh stays up to date through industry webinars and continuous learning. He believes profit doesn’t equal cash flow and that paying tax means a business is growing—what matters is being structured efficiently.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his dog, girlfriend, and friends, plus hobbies like photography, swimming, and binge-watching TV. His motivation? Making a real difference in both business and life.

Mark

Systems Manager

Mark Nixey is the architect of automation at Trinity Advisory, dedicated to streamlining processes so the team can focus on delivering real value to clients. With over 15 years of experience in technology-driven solutions and a background in business systems, change management, and Microsoft technologies, Mark has transformed internal operations, client business analysis reports, and workflow automation.

A Prosci-certified Change Manager and Microsoft Certified Trainer, Mark has worked with industry giants like BHP, Virgin Airways, and BDO, implementing cutting-edge digital solutions. At Trinity, his expertise in SharePoint, Power Platform, and automation tools ensures that complex tasks are handled seamlessly, saving time and increasing efficiency.

Colleagues would say he’s always ready to help, constantly finding ways to optimize systems, and—importantly—the only one who remembers to empty the bin every day.

When he’s not refining processes, Mark enjoys exploring the world, hiking, great music, and a well-crafted gin. He also has a knack for accents and, surprisingly, a soft spot for romantic comedies.

Joshua

Head of Advisory

Joshua is a trusted advisor passionate about helping small business owners gain financial clarity and build profitable, sustainable businesses. A Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from UQ, Joshua specialises in trades-based businesses, guiding them through the transition from working “on the tools” to becoming strategic business owners.

He helps businesses analyse performance, implement systems, and refine pricing models to eliminate inefficiencies and boost profitability. His expertise has helped clients recover lost revenue, restructure operations, and reduce working hours—all while increasing profits.

His Approach in Three Words:
Insightful – Identifying key areas for growth and improvement.

Actionable – Providing practical steps that drive real change.

Goal-Focused – Helping clients achieve long-term success.

Joshua believes business success isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about strategic planning and continuous improvement. He stays up to date with tax law changes, business training, and industry insights, ensuring clients always receive the most relevant advice.

Outside of work, Joshua and his fiancé are devoted Border Collie owners, often spending weekends at creeks or the beach. His motivation? Helping business owners understand their numbers so well that they can implement strategies to win back their time and life.

Andrea

Senior Advisor

Andrea is a strategic problem-solver who blends a love for numbers with a passion for business growth. With a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Hungary and a Master’s in Accounting from Australia, she brings a global perspective and firsthand experience in running a business, giving her deep insight into the challenges small business owners face.

Andrea specializes in helping small and medium-sized businesses—especially NDIS service providers—improve productivity, manage cash flow, and scale sustainably. She works closely with clients to optimise staffing, streamline operations, and build financial strategies that create stability and long-term success.

Her Approach in Three Words:

Strategic – Every decision should be backed by data and planning.

Practical – Advice that works in the real world, not just on paper.

Supportive – Helping business owners feel confident and in control.

Andrea believes cash flow is king—a strong profit and loss statement means nothing if the cash isn’t flowing. She helps businesses track and manage finances effectively, so they can grow sustainably instead of running on hope.

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys creative crafts, a bit of pampering, and unwinding with an Aperol Spritz. Her motivation? Seeing small business owners go from overwhelmed to thriving, knowing she’s made a real impact on their journey.

He firmly believes that “knowledge is power” and that smart financial decisions can transform not just businesses, but lives.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending time with family, playing and watching sports, and taking walks on the beach. His ultimate motivation? Helping clients succeed in their dreams and build a better future for their families.

Conor

Senior Advisor

Conor Saran is more than just a numbers expert—he’s a strategic partner who helps small business owners transform the way they work. With a Bachelor of Business (Economics), a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), and nearly completed CPA certification, Conor brings a deep understanding of financial strategy and a passion for helping trades, builders, and mechanics increase profitability and regain control over their time.

Inspired by Trinity Advisory’s approach to storytelling through numbers, Conor specializes in pricing strategies, profitability models, and business efficiency. He knows that not all revenue is good revenue, and he works closely with clients to refine their pricing, ensuring sustainable growth without unnecessary stress. His success stories speak for themselves—he has helped business owners go from working seven days a week to just four, transitioning them from working on the tools to working on their business instead.

Conor stays ahead of industry trends through continuous education, professional memberships, and conferences, ensuring his advice is always relevant, practical, and impactful. He believes that accountants aren’t just number crunchers—they’re key partners in business growth.

When he’s not helping businesses succeed, you’ll find Conor hiking mountains, freediving, or riding his motorbike—seeking adventure both in and outside the office. His personal "why"? Seeing business owners get their life back fuels his passion to go above and beyond.
