Tencent Games has announced that its cross-platform action MMORPG Tarisland will officially shut down on November 4, 2025, marking an abrupt end just one year after its global release.
Originally revealed in April 2023, the game quickly entered closed beta in China, rolled out early access in select regions in June 2023, and launched worldwide in June 2024 for Android and iOS. Despite strong initial interest and comparisons to genre giants like World of Warcraft, its lifespan was cut short without an official explanation.

No Reason Given for Shutdown
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the developers announced:
“We are grateful for all your love and your continued support. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
The announcement confirmed that no offline version will be made available, and refunds will not be issued.

About Tarisland
Set in a sprawling Western fantasy world, Tarisland featured:
- 5-player dungeons and 10-player raids
- Multiple classes with a deep talent tree system
- Large-scale boss battles
- Full cross-platform support
Despite these features, the game struggled to maintain a strong player base, leading to mixed reactions over its early shutdown. Some fans expressed sadness over its end, while others admitted they had already moved on.
