Shift Up Files Trademark for Popular NIKKE Fan-Made Character Doro

Shift Up, the studio behind Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and Stellar Blade, has officially filed a trademark application for the fan-created character Dororong, better known as Doro. The filing was submitted to the Korean Intellectual Property Office on August 29, 2025, covering both Doro’s character design and multiple versions of the character’s logo, according to official records first reported by Game*Spark.

From Meme to Mascot

Doro began life as a playful fan creation on the Korean gaming forum Arca.live, where a NIKKE player reimagined Dorothy as a simpler, cuter version. The design’s quirky charm quickly went viral among fans and soon caught the attention of Shift Up’s own team.

Doro’s Rise in Popularity

What started as a meme has since evolved into something much larger. Doro has become widely recognized as the unofficial mascot of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, inspiring countless fan artworks and community tributes across social media platforms.

Official Recognition by Shift Up

Shift Up has gradually embraced the character, featuring Doro in promotional campaigns and even integrating it into official game content. Most recently, Doro appeared in the collaboration event between Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.

By trademarking Doro, Shift Up is solidifying the character’s official status. This move ensures they can continue to use Doro in marketing, collaborations, and in-game appearances while protecting the design as part of their intellectual property.
