Riot Games has officially announced that Blitzcrank, the Great Steam Golem, will be a playable fighter in its upcoming free-to-play tag-based fighting game 2XKO. Fans will get the chance to try out Blitzcrank during the game’s closed beta test, which kicks off September 9, 2025, worldwide on PC.
Closed Beta Test Details
The 2XKO closed beta marks the first time Riot Games will be deploying its backend systems at scale. As such, players may encounter some technical hiccups during testing, but Riot has confirmed that improvements will be made throughout the beta period.

- Cross-platform progression: Progress will carry over to console when the game fully launches.

- Players from Alpha Lab 1 & 2 (PC) get instant access.

Riot Games also confirmed that the beta servers will remain online after launch, allowing for extended testing and continued feedback from players.
Returning and New Characters
Alongside Blitzcrank, Vi, the Piltover Enforcer, will also be available during the closed beta. Vi made her debut during the 2XKO EVO 2025 demo at the Las Vegas Convention Center earlier this August, but this will be her first appearance in the beta version.
